Allstate Interiors, Inc. is proud to have participated in the historical renovation of Monarch Mills. Once recognized as the largest industrial building in the world, and dubbed ‘the eighth wonder of the world’ because of the building’s sheer size (over 1.3 million square feet in total), the apartments are now a symbol of America’s economic resilience and the developer’s commitment to the community.

Monarch Lofts represents the start of a new residential lifestyle in the Merrimack Valley. Emphasizing eco-conscious design, incredible scale, and restored architecture, with living spaces and amenities that provide a pleasant escape. Monarch Lofts is also one of the area’s premier rental buildings, boasting a geothermal heating and cooling system that has distinguished the project as the Northeast’s largest eco-friendly residential building.

The builder was committed to contract with highly qualified firms whose craftsmen created a high level of finish and a better overall product for the owner, residents, and community of Lawrence.

Sound isolation is particularly necessary in an open-loft layout like Monarch Lofts, since there are fewer walls to keep sound from traveling between units. Because the lofts are located downtown next to six floors of entertainment and shopping, sound isolation is a must. The decision to utilize Quiet Qurl® products from Keene Building Products was critical to maintaining Monarch Lofts atmosphere of natural harmony.

The developer was consistent in selecting reputable and reliable partners when it chose Allstate Interiors, Inc. for its unquestionable level of expertise in metal framing for its building structure. Again, Allstate Interiors, Inc. was called upon as a leading Northeast applicator of USG LEVELROCK® underlayments which help maximize sound isolation between floors/units and may be used with a sound mat or sound board for improved STC and IIC ratings. Engineered and manufactured by USG, these underlayments can be:

• Poured before drywall is installed to help control mold and moisture
• Installed at rates of up to 30,000 sq. ft. per day
• Applied at just ¾ in. thickness

The renovation resulted in an unique construction project: reminding Lawrence of its proud industrial heritage and its future economic potential.
